Introduction:

● The ORAN-RRU is an outdoor remote radio unit. It is the radio frequency (RF) part of a distributed base station and can be located near antennas.  

● Adopting an innovative design, ORAN-RRU is able to work in 2TX and 2RX mode and therefore supports higher output power and larger carrier capacity.

● It can support 4G/5G all of 3GPP Frequency, include B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28/B40/B41/B68/N77/N78/N79 etc

Highlights:

1. Mechanical Design

● Smaller and Lighter(-4T4R/SBP: 13L/15KG; -8T8R/MBP: 25L/25KG)

● PA sub board adopts  golden finger  technology, which  occupies a small PCB  area

● Integrated wireless  cable design, simple  process (traditional  scheme is multi  module design,  requiring cable  connection)

● FPGA heat dissipation  adopts soaking design  and VC soaking plate  process

2. GaN+DPD（-30%~35% overall efficiency）

● Gan is at least 5% more  efficient than traditional  LDMOS,

● Gan has a larger bandwidth  than traditional LDMOS, and  can be used as a wider band  or multi band device

● Integrated power supply high  efficiency, up to 94%

3. RFSOC+DFE

● The total FPGA power is  reduced by 50%
